The farm initially belonged to a local family before being sold in 2015 to a foreign investor. When the investor left the country a few years later, a unique opportunity arose for a new generation.

The start of the adventure
Ferme Crescendo is officially born when Marie-Ève and Marc-Antoine, two passionate young agronomists, take possession of 614 James Fisher Road.
It’s the starting point of a great adventure for this couple, driven by an ambitious and sustainable vision for agriculture. -
First Challenges
The farm’s activities primarily focus on apple growing, in an aging orchard requiring significant care.
In their first year of operation, a major spring frost affected more than 60% of the harvest. Despite this setback, the first season was successfully completed. -
Toward a growing farm
Expansion plans are taking shape.
A new plot of nearly 4 hectares is being prepared thanks to major drainage, rock removal, and grading work.
That’s also the year the couple officially begins the transition to organic production, guided by deep environmental convictions. -
A new plantation
The first high-density plantation is established.
More than 1,000 new apple trees are planted with the invaluable help of family and friends, marking a key milestone in the orchard’s development. -
Steady growth
The farm continues to develop at a steady pace:
- 2024: planting of more than 2,500 trees
- 2025: addition of 1,000 additional trees
After three years of rigorous work, Ferme Crescendo officially receives its organic certification in the fall of 2025, opening the way for a new era.

A pivotal year
The year 2026 is shaping up to be the orchard’s biggest growth phase yet, with nearly 3,000 new trees planted.
At the same time, several key projects are taking shape:- opening new plots,
- building and renovating a refrigerated storage area,
- developing a portfolio of apple-based products.

Today, Ferme Crescendo continues to grow with a clear objective:
to grow superior-quality local products, while respecting the best agricultural practices and the environment.
THE LOCATION
Located in the Montérégie region, right near the US border, Hemmingford is a rural community known for its rich agricultural heritage and bucolic landscape. Since the 19th century, this region has been considered one of the main fruit-growing hubs in Quebec, especially for apples, thanks to its fertile soil and temperate climate.
The region enjoys a microclimate favorable for fruit growing, with warm summers, mild autumns, and cold winters that allow for proper fruit tree dormancy. Classified as hardiness zone 5b, Hemmingford is ideal for growing apple, pear, and plum trees, as well as berries and even certain grape varieties.
Orchards and vineyards abound in the region, and several local farms, such as Ferme des Quatre-Temps and Ferme Giroflée, are innovating in organic and sustainable farming, while also offering unique agritourism experiences.
Hemmingford is also home to a vibrant and engaged farming community, with a strong tradition of collaboration among producers, artisans, and residents. Seasonal festivals, farmers’ markets, and community events celebrate this agricultural richness throughout the year.
Marie-Eve
Co-founder and manager of Ferme Crescendo
Marie-Ève is the driving force behind the agricultural project at Ferme Crescendo. Fueled by a deep passion for the outdoors, rural life, and apples, she was the spark that inspired the couple to embark on their farming journey.
The daughter of two entrepreneurs and the eldest in her family, Marie-Ève grew up in the region and developed a love for horses at a young age. She spent her summers riding and competing on the regional classical equestrian circuit.
Her artistic and imaginative nature led her to begin her studies in photography at CEGEP, before continuing on to McGill University to study agronomy—where her passion for agriculture only grew stronger. It was at McGill’s Macdonald Campus that she met Marc-Antoine. A strong friendship blossomed, eventually turning into a beautiful love story.
After graduating, Marie-Ève worked for nearly five years in the animal feed industry. She also completed a marketing certificate at Université Laval before transitioning into the animal health sector.
Today, Marie-Ève plays a key role at the farm: she manages human resources and oversees the production of apple-based products. Her vision, energy, and commitment to sustainable agriculture make her an inspiring leader at the heart of Ferme Crescendo.
Marc-Antoine
Co-founder and manager of Ferme Crescendo
Marc-Antoine is the dreamer of the entrepreneurial duo. Always brimming with ideas, he’s constantly focused on growth and innovation. Passionate about agriculture, technology, and new production methods, he is always seeking ways to make the farm more efficient, sustainable, and high-performing.
Originally from the beautiful Laurentians region, Marc-Antoine grew up in the countryside, where he developed a deep admiration for animals and nature from an early age. Naturally curious, he began his academic journey in biochemistry at the Université de Montréal before shifting to agronomy at McGill University’s Macdonald Campus. There, he earned his agronomist designation and began his career in animal nutrition.
His passion for science and innovation led him to complete a master’s degree in animal nutrition, followed by doctoral studies at McGill. While pursuing his graduate studies, he worked in the animal feed industry and fully committed himself to the couple’s agricultural project.
Today, Marc-Antoine is in charge of operations at Ferme Crescendo. With the support of a dedicated team, he oversees crop management and the optimization of agronomic practices. He is also responsible for business development and the marketing of the farm’s products.

The farm benefits from valuable local expertise, supported by a network of essential partners: advisory groups, experienced neighbors, fellow farmers… All contribute to make the project shine.
During harvests, seasonal workers come to help out. Their contribution is invaluable and is an integral part of the farm’s DNA.
